Well, i just got back From Kennedy Space Center, were alas, the launch was scrubbed at the last second due to a Weather problem.

Oh well, lets try again Saturday,.

    I liked how neither radio nor television were covering it. So I'm assing around outside in the cold, listening to classical music and hoping that the news will break in at any moment to say, "Oh, right, no shuttle tonight. Sorry, guys." But they didn't! It wasn't on any of the TV news stations, either. And when it finally does go up, I'll be home from university, and thus no longer in a position to see it.

    We spent the whole day at KSC, hung around outside waiting, if nasa didn't have a built in 45 minute hold at T Minus 9 Minutes, they would have been able to launch weather was a Go at the hold, but No Go after the hold, so they brought the countdown to T Minus 5 Minutes, and held there while their weather aircraft checked out the clouds, But as of the 5 minute hold, they only had 4 minutes left in the launch window, not enough time for the plane to assess the cloud cover.

    luckily for me, when you buy launch tickets, they are good for a specific launch, not a specific day, so i'll head back up on Saturday evening, i just hope they can launch then, the 80 mile drive isn't too much of a pain but getting out of the nasa parking lot after is.. took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot and back onto the interstate.

    And just as an update for those who want to watch, CUrrently the launch is scheduled for 8:47pm tomorow (saturday) EST, However when we called today to check, they say there is only a 20% chance weather will allow them to launch tomorow,

    More likely it will be tuesday when this weather system moves through.
