ISO copies...

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
Any idea how to make some proper iso rips/copies of game cd's/dvd's?

So could burn the ISO's to dvd's and take with me on my trip, instead of the originals...

So far I havent met with much success on the newest games, always complaining I need to use the originals..

So far used CD Manipulator to rip the cd's and then mounted on Daemon tools. No worky worky.

i've always had good luck with winISO,

or just making a stright 1:1 copy with Nero.

otherwise you'd need to search for a noCD crack for the specific game

DVD Shrink is a good one for ripping DVDs as well as making ISOs.. the Nero to burn them...
  • Why don't u try cracks?

With WinIso atleast it only tells me that I have the "wrong cd" in for Dawn of War..

Got to test couple other games still..

Download copies and use cracks. The old days of CloneCD are long over. You don't want a perfect copy of starforce anyway.

You know, if someone owns a game, it should be easy for them to make backups. Optical media isn't invincible.

No, but it can be laden with viruses and spyware that control your computer, making it effectively impossible to do so. Just download a copy whether you own th original or not.

Wait a minute.. explain to me how downloading something is going to be more effective in avoiding viruses/spyware than copying an actual disc?

Copy protection systems like Starforce are basically very complex, insidious forms of spyware that come with the game and force you to install them to run what you paid for. Groups that crack these games and then release them for free (like Reloaded, for example) remove the spyware and provide clean images and clean executables.
  • croxiscroxis I am the walrus
    Most games dont have starforce
  • ArethusaArethusa Universal Cathode
Starforce is hardly uncommon, and SecuROM7 and SD3 are rather close to Starforce in the way they function.

Also Daemon Tools has some emulations for cheating these use limiting techniques.

BTW, Apparently Ubisoft has stopped using Starfuck in new games after they were sued from that.
