Pritty webpage woes

So my website (croxis.net) uses a bit of javascript for the fading menu thing. A lot of javascript. Over 60k worth of it just to switch between various divs. Any suggestions on how I could go about doing the same basic thing (with or without pretty effects) without needing to use prototype?
