Another Haruki Murakami novel. My first of his was the Wind Up Bird Chronicle...GREAT BOOK. And I only was interested in it because it had something to do with Mongolia but it was far more mysterious and dark then I thought it would be. I'll never look at wells the same.
The Wild Sheep Chase is another mystery/dreamlike book about a loner who becomes divorced. Works as a free lance publisher for meager wages and finally one odd photo of a sheep turns his entire life in a direction that is not predictable at all. He becomes involved with a girl whose ears have special powers. For once hes sprung on adventure and leaves his normal suburban grime. Its pretty amazing the way he captures you and sort of draws you into to his characters. At the same time I found myself really wanting to be in Hokkaido to see the beautiful landscapes he writes about. The ending is a bit ehhh but still worth the read.
