Walking and sleeping (not sleepwalking)..

MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
Since Ive lived about 8 km from town all my live, Ive developed a wierd thing while drunk. I easily get bored, and really dont like walking/cycling all the way home. So, I sleep while walking, saves me that boring hour. I used to sleep while cycling, but after waking up next to the road with bruises over pretty much all of me, I stopped doing that.

Well, Now Ive moved to the city, and I promised myself I wouldnt do that here, too many cars and stuff..

This saturday, I did it anyway, and I walked straight into a bus stop! cracked my nose, and I look like Ive been in a barfight. So, just had to sound off. Dont try it at home..

so you start walking, and then fall asleep whilst walking? how bizarre! :D

Its not that hard. I havent done it sober, but you know the point where you almost fall asleep, cant keep your eyes open? You just have to keep walking at that point.. And please dont do it anywhere dangerous if you try. It also helps focusing on a spot straight forward, and tell yourself to wake up when youre there..
  • Thats funny. Done it myself but then that little alarm goes off in ur head telling ya 2 open ur eyes.

ive never heard of anyone ever doing that before! crazy!

on the other hand, if im walking for a long period, i do kinda switch off and enter an almost meditative state where i can almost be anywhere else. i suppose it wouldnt be that far removed from then entering a sleep-like state...

Maybe you have a mild form of that condition where people fall asleep at any time? Alas, I've never fallen asleep outside of a bed. I can't even fall asleep in a chair.

Perhaps, but Ive been training myself for a long time. Im just so irritated with myself, could have hit a car instead.. :(

Actually I've done it a few times sober even. All you have to do is to be tired enough. I did it in the army when we didn't get much time to sleep, so when I was guarding a spot I walked in circles because it was so damn cold, all of the sudden I wake up by bumping into a tree. Alot of other people there told me they had similar experiences.

And then there's the thing that you aren't tired enough, then you'll fall asleep no matter where you are, including very noisy platform of army truck, jammed like herrings in can in sitting position. (until front sight of assault rifle you're keeping upright in front of you hits to forehead when truck follows turn in road)

On one other camp I rose three times from sleeping bag and started putting full clothes on in, I guess best term is "autopilot mode" before noticing what I was doing.

As for now doing something like that wouldn't be so big surprise, I have some weird flu, or what ever, and haven't been able to really sleep for couple nights, last night I must have been mostly in some half sleep because waiting for morning didn't feel as long time as in previous night when I slept barely 1/5th of night.
And no, it ain't fewer, in previous night when I felt most badly like being in way too hot room body heat was 35,6C.
