I love the wii sports. I got one on launch day, and my neighbors got one the day after. Its a really fun system to play. Like another poster, I bought Red Steel and took it back, meh, shoot the guy with the sword. anyways...
I have kids, so I have Spongebob and Avatar also. There ok, I mostly just bowl, box and play baseball right now. I am right on the edge of going pro on bowling, cant seem to break it though.
Dax, Ill PM you my wii number.
Excellent...
I also love Wii Sports, it's great. I am good at Bowling and getting better at all of them, especially tennis.
Yea, Tennis is pretty hard to get the hang of, and the animation system ca get a little screwy too. I swear once when i didn't know which side to swing the racket, backhand or forehand, and i ened up going back and forht, my character ended up shaking around upsidedown. It was the funniest thing to watch in the replay.
I'm no good at the bowling or boxing though. My five year old brother in law beat me at both. He bowled like a 215 or something like that.

My one arrived over 32 hours ago, about 10 minutes before I had to leave for the day's conferencing. Thanks to the conference banquet going late that night, since then it's sat in its box in my wardrobe. However, I am home now, the conference is over, so it's time to play.
I got Zelda, Super Monkey Ball and Rayman with it, as well as an extra remote and nunchuck with Wii Play - that's a big bunch of minigames (like table tennis, pool, duck shooting, some kind of tank game or something, and a bunch more) that comes with extra remotes if you pay an extra $NZ10, the one none of you people in the US are going to get at this rate.
Only got the Wii sports, that was with the console, Zelda and Monster 4x4 World Circuit.. But they're good for testing. Just played two hours of Zelda and got to go find something to eat now..
I have one! I played on it for two hours before having to surrender it to Santa for 16 more days.
It worked perfectly, with Wii Sports being the only game I have at the moment.
I'm curious about Red Steel...but I don't want to spend that much on something that might be bad so I guess I'll wait until I have a chance to play it or it drops in price.
What about Splinter Cell for the Wii? I'm curious about that too but I can't find anything about it beyond the initiall announcements.

what really, I didn't notice that! :P
I enjoyed Red Steel, actually. It took me two days to beat it, but I enjoyed it. Yeah, I really wanted to just blast those stupid LA punks with those steel pipes with my shotgun, but no I have to dual them. Other then that, it was a fun experience.
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
I'm also enjoying red steel.
Yes, the turning and looking is a bit problematic, and sometimes the game misunderstands what i'm doing (in swordfights).
The game isn't perfect (it had a really short development time, as far as i understand), but if you don't expect it to be, you'll probably enjoy it (also, you can have 4 player deathmatches (haven't tried multiplayer yet))

I dont think youre supposed to punch him for real.. :p ;)
I was ready to fall asleep and then I started the boxing and had sweat coming out my ass. It may be Biggles that you don't have the endurance for such a sport no?

I felt the same way... wait until you want to rage at something, then it's fun ;)
Saw a Wii at work today and I had the chance to try out Wii-Sports. The Wii-mote is pretty cool and while I haven't tried the nunchuck setup, it seems like a great idea. Tennis takes some getting used to, but then it does on any system. Golf is ok and so is boxing. Baseball and bowling are probably the best of the lot.
They were out of Zelda at the place my colleague tried to get it. I suppose it's on re-order.
I read somewhere that a game called "Blue Dragon" has been outselling Zelda in Japan. No small feat if this happens elsewhere. No idea how either games play on the Wii...
I'm thinking of getting one for myself. I'll keep an eye on the next batch of games coming out to make my final decision.

Blue Dragon is outselling Zelda because it's from the original creator of Final Fantasy (which means it's probably very good) and has been marketed very, very hard in Japan.
Blue Dragon is for the XB360 only, so you won't find it for the Wii. (It's a Microsoft game...)
Anyway, the things that are in favor of the Wii are the controllers and the price.
The things in favor of the XB360 are the excellent audio-visuals and the games geared towards more "mature" audiences.
I heard the XB360 is noisy once the cooling fans start spinning.
Anyway, no need to rush out and get a video console. ;)

But.. is Red Steel really that bad?
Not worth paying over 20 euros?
Ghastly!

Personally i think the swordfights are the weakest part of the game
