Playing parents are nothing to wonder.. I mean, both of my parents have played since NES/FAMICON... (and now that I got Donkey Konga for GC even my dad got into playing a bit..)

Ofcourse not as much as yours truly..

But back to the topic on hand.. I bet you were like this when you got it..

I agree with Messiah. :D

I hope you didn't have to get medieval on someone just to get it.

Lemmings I say. ;)

Is it quiet btw?

Just now that I've started playing on GC again i've noticed how quiet it is...

It's nothing like the vacuum cleaner type sounds of PS2 and Xbox's...

fun :)

I probably won't get the Wii when it's released here in europe, I got so much else to get.

About parents, mine used to play Tetris on the NES and now they're looking into xbox360 arcade ;)

I had to hide away my original Gameboy from my mum, otherwise she'd waste all the batteries playing Tetris.. and never let me play it!

I really don't give a damn about the frequency of gaming parents. I was talking about my mother and my mother specifically and only in the context of my mother.

You can't even hear the system running.
• In Soviet Russia Wii plays you...

Wow. A tad tetchy for someone who's just got a new gaming system.

I have a Wii and it's fantastic!
The controls are really intuitive, they work well and the sports games are cool too.
I haven't tried Super Monkey Ball yet but I got a cool stuffed toy with it! :D

So nobody here has been shot, robbed or other wise kidnapped for their Wii? Or is that just PS3 buyers :p

I think its cool how the Wii is appealing to not just the usual 16-35 age bracket. But I can understand it could lead to sharing problems. Maybe parents should buy their own.

Cool. Porbably an idea to carry the box in an old corn sack or something to not attract attention ;)

Some interesting results so far on console sales figures:

Wii sells big: http://washingtontimes.com/upi/20061119-104922-9516r.htm

Amazon sold out in less than one minute: http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Wii/dp/B0009VXBAQ/sr=8-13/qid=1163954908/ref=sr_1_13/002-1473062-0188835?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games
• Also my friend succesfully ebayed his PS3 for an inflated price of $1650 dollars it was brought down to around $1540 with the ebay fees. That is easily a 100% profit either way you look at it.
• Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
Now thats what I call sweet sweet profit! :D
• *Raises hand

I slept outside the Best buy in my area for one. It became a nice social event actually, as there were about fifty others there as well.

My wife and i love Wii sports. it is very fun, except that so far my five year old brother in law has beaten me in both boxing and bowling.

And so far Zelda is awsome. If the rest of the game lives up to the first few hours I've played so far, then it deserves those 9+ scores it's been getting, but then I'm a Zelda fanatic(unless it's on gameboy) so my word may be worthless.

My father plays games. It's kind of funny to me to think ofa fifty year old playing Quake and Day of Defeat.

My Dad is beating my brother left and right with Wii sports.

• One problem, however. Is anyone else with the wii having problems either establishing or maintaining a connection to the shop channel?
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
I don't even have a wierless connection to do so?
• Well, supposedly there is a wired adaptor out there somewhere that will plug into one of the rear USB ports, though i have yet to see it.

I actually fixed the issue. On Nintendo's website it recommended setting the router to channel 1 or 11. As soon as i did that all my connection issues dissapeared.

I wish I could get a new game console. The only ones I own are a Sega Genesis and an SNES. No joke. Those were both gifts, I've never been able to afford to get my own system. Right now, I'd love a PS2 or a GameCube, screw the REALLY new stuff.

My parents are both so technologically inept, they have to call me everytime they have the smallest trouble with their computer. My brother is worse, he once had to call me to ask how to change his email signature

And OMG here in Rochester, the PS3 opening was awful!! People rushed the door of the Best Buy and it shattered, like 12 cop cars were called in and 20 people were arrested, it was nuts!! Some guy filmed it and it's on YouTube.

For those lamenting the need to buy a wireless router to use your Wii online: apparently the Nintendo wifi dongle that was released for the DS works just fine. If it's cheaper, use that.
