I see famous people
in Zocalo v2.0
To people who live in Seismic areas, this will seem like nothing, however, i live on an Island off the coast of Maine, a state where we get maybe 1 earthquake a year over 1.0.
In the past 11 days, we have had 4 measurable earthquakes, and about 60 fore/aftershocks
11 days ago we had a 3.4
4 days ago we had a 1.8 aftershock, 5 minutes later a 2.5
last night we had a 3.9
the 3.9 was orignally reported as a 4.2, and it sure felt a lot stronger than the 3.4 from last week, this one actually knocked things off shelves and caused a couple rockslides in the park.

How's New Madrid looking?
Jake
[EDIT]Gotta put the right name in there...
Hum. So is it a sign or more to come, or just a freak act of nature, like where you get 3 plane crashes in a week then none for six months?
Nobody seems to know.
all i know, is that if a big one comes, and like the island sinks into the sea, I really hope its ona day when there are a couple cruise ships in port..
lol

Speaking of sesmic events, my mother-in-law is all worried about Yellowstone blowing, trying to get us to stock up on food. Of course if Yellowstone were to blow in such a way that someone in Missouri needs to stock up on food, I think we'd need more than a week or two...
Jake
If Yellowstone goes up in that way...
People in a 600 mile radius will be more worried about the immediate need to be able to breath...
:p
Thankfully, I live in a part of the country that never sees earthquakes.
That's what i thought
A big hole is opening and evil will spring forth!
So its still dropping, even after the earthquake?

yep, still dropping
evil already sprang forth, in the form of Tourists.
:p
I'm all for it, when does Pierce Brosnan show up?
[COMIC STORE GUY]Dante's Peak: Worst Volcano Movie Ever[/COMIC STORE GUY]
Jake
... if not in the USGS scientist all-knowing and predicting part... :p
Pierce is so great, that when he jumps in the ocean, he doesn't get wet. the water gets Pierce.
My comparison was between DP and Volcano... Not anything about the USGS nerd club portrayed in the movie.
More importantly the look and feel of the volcano in the former movie...
;)
I rather enjoy both movies, but DP was a better movie, Volcano was just a fun Disaster Flick.
Sometimes for a disasster flick, you really have to just sit back and say "Ok, i know this could never really happen, the science is suspect, and the actions taken by the characters is insane, but hell, its a lot of fun to watch them do it"
