Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
Ok, as brought up in another thread, i'm considering jumping from my athlon to a Core 2 Duo, i have not had an intel processor in a very long time.

I'm still trying to decide if i want to build my own, or buy a prebuilt box.

My question is.. WTF are good core 2 duo motherboards these days?

I'll need a motherboard, Memory and obviously the CPU, prolly a new case/PS as well,

But i've no idea what the best intel boards are, i love my Asus for Athlons, but i read something yesterday that their core 2 duo boards are not that great.

Look for the nForce 590 SLI series of motherboards, they have all the nice options you would want, can accomidate the new Core 2 Duo, and have SLI capability. They are on the expensive side of things though...

I have been reading about them. they just came out and you will be paying a premium price. From what I have read around more MB are going to come out which will drop prices.

This guy suggests waiting till October.

yeah, also a new nforce SLI will be out in late august or early september that's supposed to be much better than the current intel northbridge/southbridge

i'll prolly wait another month or 2 and see what happens, but i'd really like a conroe.
