At a smaller panel at Comic-Con, J. Michael Straczynski made some major announcements not heard elsewhere. Most notably, Babylon 5 is returning as a direct-to-DVD series of short films about various main characters, to be written and directed by JMS himself. He also had news about some of his original comic book properties: mentioned that Sam Raimi's production company has the rights to Rising Stars and is developing it as a tv show; Midnight Nation and Dream Police are both being bid on by major movie studios. posted by robin at 10:25 AM
