Why not ya know? we can say all the bad things about the networks but WB LOVES b5, they really do. A cheap successful product? i think they would love to do a movie for a cheap budget, 50 million. Promote it right they could get that back here and with worldwide it would be huge. HUGE I SAY HUGE!!!!
Is this why they cancelled all the various licenses a while back, and B5Wars won't be renewed? Is that why they lost all the computer models for the show? Or maybe it's why the original footage of "The Gathering" was stored in such a poor fashion that rats got into it and ate portions of it before JMS could do his re-cut. Granted, there are new things on the horizon, but WB's record to date has not exactly been stellar.
The word from JMS is that they'll be thinking about it once the Star Wars run finishes. So we have a while to wait.
That's a very old quote from JMS, and it only refers to a theatrically released movie, not the TV movies that have been produced.
I'm not even sure if that should apply to theatrical releases anymore... films can hold their own along side the SW films.

Yes. JMS has said that Warner Brothers felt that the B5Wars license was stagnant, and they weren't really producing anything really new.

That is not Warner Brothers' fault. It's actually hard to find someone to blame for that. Netter Digital lost a lot of stuff when they declared bankruptcy.

The Gathering was created before Warner Brothers really knew what they had. You can't say that has anything to do with how they feel about a show almost 10 years later.
WB is happy about B5 because it continues to make money, and almost every season came in under budget (which NEVER happens with a sci-fi show) -- in fact, JMS mentioned not long ago that Warner was shocked when they gave back around a million dollars during one season.
So let's not be so quick to knock Warner Brothers.

Well only time will tell whether another B5 tele movie or theatre release is made.

Yes, that is why the actual war wasn't in the books. He wants it to be in a movie.
JMS has a lot of other projects on at the moment, so I'd say chances of another B5 telemovie soon are slim.
