Crox.... that is so stereotypical !! :D

Game itself looks good, I wonder what the price will be like.
Anyways, the games does look interesting going back to the old school mission set-up. I'll keep my eye on the reviews and if it is any good I'll nab it. I'm liking the stylization as well.
An international Demo should come out Friday.
You know, its a shame Battle Cruiser didn't live up to its potential - its exactly the kind of game I am in the mood for right now.
Closest I can think of is X3, but that's provided you're comfortable having Starforce on your machine.
But I agree - multiplayer would be great. I'm totally in love with eve for that reason. If they could have something like co-op play as well (or a free form alowing just co-op).
Speaking of that they are now starting to work on multiplayer for the vega strike engine. If I could code (and knew networking) I would totally help with that.
Sadly us non coders can't do much :(
Any other upcoming space sims?
Oh, and for those who might be interested, I just found out BattleCruiser Millennium is free: http://www.3000ad.com/products/bcm.shtml
EDIT: Star Trek Game using the vegastrike engine: http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/
There is a B5 one too but it seems inactive.
whats with the lack of multiplayer?? It looks a lot like Privateer or Elite, great games in their day, but now adays multiplayer just makes a game that much more fun. Besides, after Jumpgate, a single player space sim = ZZZZZ.
Some of us prefer single player over multiplayer, you know. :p

Precisely the reason I haven't got X3 yet.

Work is progressing steadily on the Battlestar Galactica total conversion for Freespace 2_Open. We are gunning for a late July multiplayer release...hopefully the world can be dogfighting in Mk IIs, VIIs, and possibly even Cylon Raiders by the end of July!!!

I agree. Singlplayer with better gameplay and story is often better than multiplayer.
On the other hand, the option for both is not wrong.. ;)

bunch of new cutscenes and storyline plugged into freelancer
dont bother with the demo unless thats what you want
its a real shame, not a skerrick of innovation in there at all, just little inconsequential tweaks around the edges
SB, just because something isn't entirely original doesn't make it bad. Freelancer was a great game that ended too early in its life. So why re-invent the wheel when you already have a perfectly good concepts that you could successfully re-use?
Change just for the sake of change is a bad idea.
bunch of new cutscenes and storyline plugged into freelancer
So that's why those preview shots looked so familiar.
Incidently newest number of Finnish Mikrobitti (literally Microbyte) had introduction of one game reviewed early in magazine's life: Tie Fighter. And then there was comment from today's perspective: "Wing Commander, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Freespace, those are words which make "old timers" cry from joy, nostalgy and yearning. If there was something they knew how to make in 1990s it was space operas..."

I hear that...those were the good old days...
