Only a couple more weeks until my copy arrives!
(By the way, does "One Year Later" remind anyone else of the theme from "Myst"?)
Speaking of which, I got into Explosions in the Sky earlier this year, and one track in particular made me think of Battlestar. Check out Your Hand in Mine off of The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place:

I emailed Bear about it. He cryptically replied that Explosions probably wouldn't be involved in scoring season 3. Ah, well. He's still doing damn good work.
Damn can't wait for this to arrive :D
Don't delete the six preview tracks when you get the soundtrack. Those preview tracks are different than the ones that'll be on the CD. The CD version of "Roslin and Adama" is a different arrangement/mix than the preview, and is also slightly longer. From the CD preview clip, I think I like the preview arrangement better than the CD arrangement, so you may want to have both.
"Prelude to War" includes "Galactica Attacks," plus a lot of music from "Resurrection Ship". However, while "Galactica Attacks" is, note for note, the end of the episode "Pegasus," the corresponding section of "Prelude" has been remixed somewhat, so "GA" is worth keeping, as well.
"Adama's Choice"/"Reuniting the Fleet," is also lengthened with an additional section at the end. "Market" is part of the track "Standing in the Mud." "Baltar's Dream" and "Gina Escapes" seem to be identical to the previews in both length and mix, though.
Roslin and Adama sounds a lot like Leave No Man behind from Black Hawk Down, too. I know they're making Bear write something like half an hour of music a week, but this is still kind of weird.
I have also noted the BHD-style music, in the first season as well as the second. I'd be interested to know if he got inspiration from the Hans Zimmer, or just the style of music in that movie in general (Wander My Friends IS quite similar to Minstrel Boy, which was NOT done by Hans Zimmer)
The only one that really bothers me is One Year Later/Nach Deutschland. This is the second time I've seen Bourne music cribbed so obviously (Man on Fire and The Constant Gardener also did it).
I have to say, I read that, and I thought of you guys. Well, and the fellow on the TrekBBS whose made the same observations, but was a bit more of a jerk about it. Come to think of it, it also reminds me of something I read from Richard Gibbs about the creation of the BSG main title music for the series, and how he didn't really like it, because he was constrained by the temp track...
Oh well my copy is preordered now so we shall see what its like.

Oh, no. I wasn't talking about anything like that. The composer was interviewed for "Film Music Radio," and the show had a few clips of music from season 2 (in addition to a lot of others samples of his work). It was all freely released and aboveboard.

But seriously, though. Our host's stance on copyright infringement is fairly clear, and we must abide with their rules.
Oh. See, now, confusion arises when people don't put in the "Edited by *Whom* on *When*."
If it had been you who were being told not to say something, it would have been your post that was edited, don't you think? :)
They also like to be bathed in diamond creme, but it's hard to do such on a student budget. They need your help! Without your generous donations, administrators around the world will be unable to live the lifestyle they were born into. Please....think of the Admins.
Got this album recently, and it is *fantastic.* I can't help but love the BHD-esque cues tossed into the roslin tracks, and cannot get enough of Allegro and Prelude to War. It also flows so smoothly into itself. I found I had accidentially been looping the album over and over, and I simply had not noticed because the superb composition had me distracted.
