Got my first job today :)

The deadline for delivering my thesis is 1.June, and the 1.August I begin in my first job :)

    Congratz! Once you get a taste of working life, you generally don't want to think going back to school. At least not anytime soon.

    My summer job started yesterday again. In fact, I should be at the warehouse in an hour. Better start 'etting going soon...

    The work's not bad and the money's ok... which is what I need at the moment, trying to save up a notch for buying me' own flat. I'm aiming at 10k e loose at the end of this summer. It's not much, but it's a start. :)

    It was the other way around for me, my first job drove me to start studying again..

    But then, Ive had a few jobs since then, and I must say, having a constant high income is pretty sweet.. ;)

    It was the same for me. I started my first job after finishing undergrad, and four months later I was back at uni starting my PhD. :)

    congrats!

    I had my first job interview 2 years ago, I also got the job. Now, after those two great years its my time to leave, the contract ends in august.

    The future is still a bit unclear, maybe I will spend a year in Australia.. Thats my dream, and why not do it because possibilities like this wont come often anymore.

    Yeah. I spent a year in Geneva in 2004, made it a lot easier to get a job now I think. Do not delay what you can do now :)

    I truly do not understand how work could keep you away from academic life. Maybe if you got an interesting job, but who gets that during or even right after school?

    Well... I've been doing a (so far) off job as a warehouse worker for a year now, and even if the pay's not great I manage with it and like the steady income and simple work more rewarding than the academic life. At least for the moment.

    We'll see in the future if I get more hungry as I go. Or stay. ;)

    I have recently decided to change jobs myself. While I don't think I'll make a career of it, hopefully Sears will prove better than Office Max... which shouldn't be hard. ;)
