Game Questions

David of MacDavid of Mac Elite RangerCa
I was just thinking. In the game, how big was the White Star to be? And if it was something reasonable, like 267 meters, could one dock inside B5. The bay is big enough, and at 500, you may be able to fit. Diagionaly.

Why should they need to dock inside B5? they can easily do repairs outside (as shown on various eps).

So they don't have to worry about debries, and can hide from enemys without being in HyperSpace

You can always hide by going into a planet's shadow, or simply going to the opposite of Epsilon 3, or such. Docking a whitestar would not be a feasable idea. it is simply too large, and would be a waste of effort. Plus, what would you be hiding from? Simply call in reinforcements. The station can hold its own for some time, you know.

  • That sounds right when you look at the earlier shots of the ship + all the scenes with them walking about inside and when it launched that Nial fighter. But... in later eps and some of the films, it is often portrayed as little bigger than a fighter.

A game obviously can't have such inconsistancies.

Maybe they made a smaller version to fit the needs of the League?

I know AOG had problems with this too, but they settled for the bigger variant...

In the game, all models are created in Lightwave. The system there works in actual measurment (meters, centimeters, etc.).

    Models were proportionate.

The models for the show were done in Lightwave to, but there they ignored that measurements to a degree because things had to give a good dramatic effect.

Actually, we have seen White Star fighters before, in book 9. Granted, these were just prototypes, but perhaps they made more?
