    It's all scat.

And it sounds like it's a mix of Swedish, English, and French intonation and some remote Finnish. :p

There, however is this passage which says "Kurikankukka ja kivikankuu" and that's as clear Finnish as can be, even with the right intonation.

Kurikankukka translates roughly as Kurikka's flower and kivikankuu as "Kivikka's moon". Kurikankukka sounds like something of a plant name in Finnish, but it doesn't really mean anything to my knowledge. Same goes for Kivikankuu. I don't think it really means anything, but it just sounds suit.

Kurikka, however is a surname and a place of residence in Finland. I'm not aware of a place called Kivikka, but it's an old Finnish surname and there could very well be a place called Kivikka as well.

Others can correct me if they want to, but it sounds to like someone doing Finnish scat, then changing the intonation to swedish, switching to French intonation and then speaking some english with swedish words. And then switching back to Finnish intonation.

    Sounds fun, but disturbing. :)

I thought this thread was about great classics like What a Wonderful World, Stairway to Heaven, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sultans of Swing or Master of Puppets, but it was all scat (of that other kind).

Just thought to pitch in... this thing made an article in Hesari, the biggest newspaper in Finland.

Here's some wonderful written Finnish for you to try to understand. :D

Anyhoo, the song is Ievan Polkka by a finnish vocal quartet called Loituma. There's an actual story there, it seems, but the most infamous clip is gibberish except for those few understandable words, as I translated above.

Just put Loituma as the search word in YouTube and you'll get quite a lot of results. :)
