In the press release from Lucasarts, they have stated that the games goes upto at least Return of the Jedi, by mentioning the second Death Star will be included.
I noticed in the trailer that the new faction seems to be able to have influence over planets controlled by the Rebels and the Empire...interesting idea...

Does anyone know the expected pricing on Virtual Console games? Some of my favorite games are NES / SNES ones, so I'm definitely interested. :)
[B]I have to say - Nintendo is the only next gen system I'm interested in buying.

I've heard speculation of a couple of dollars up to ten dollars depending on the age of the game. I can't remember where I read that though and I doubt it came from Nintendo.
We still have the Nintendo DS, which nobody seemed to notice care didn't have the "Gameboy" name in it.
It's likely that the DS will take on the same roll that the Gameboy line did. Being a newer platform, it doesn't need to carry on the legacy support for the old cartridge formfactor and pin count.
Either way, it's kind of a lie to call the gameboy dead. It's just evolving.

Oh and everyone is saying Nintendo is stealing the show this year.
[B]I'd like to add that the gameboy isn't dead. Only the name.

Well, nintendo did say at one time that the DS isn't the next gameboy, but seems like they've changed their minds.
Not true. The only *implemented* the control system in the game. Stop stealing bad slashdot headlines! :P
