That could be Herr Otto Flick, but probably not. Wikipedia binds the quote to a guy named Lawrence Welk.

Herr Flick didn't speak with a bad Italian accent. It would have been Bertorelli.

You win the prize! My grandmother use to love watching that show. And as another piece of trivia, one of the original Mouseketeers was a performer on the show.

The exact same thing happened to my parents when they put liquid dish soap in the dishwasher... only not quite. ;)

My question is, why was there that much foam stored up to begin with?
  • croxiscroxis I am the walrus
Major fire? Or does it make the foam?
  • SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
it's likely a pair of substances which, when exposed to one another, creats a foam as fast as the two ingredients can be supplied.

When it comes to aviation fires, there's no such thing as overkill in putting them out. The equipment in those aircraft costs incredible amounts of money, and the planes themselves may be loaded with highly flammable and/or toxic substances.

    or in military cases...

    highly explosive...

From my actual personal experiences I can confirm that in combination with aviation fuel and plenty of good ole oxygen, avaition grade aluminum will itself burn.

Ive actually watched a plane burn its front half up, leaving oddly enough the last third of the tail intact.

Its a very disturbing thing to see.
