No news... so long. What`s happen? Mod for Nexus - very good idea. I has understood this, as soon as has seen design ships in the game. Rotate sections and such things...

We have a lot of ready material in our hands. The main thing that is missing is the most important one - missions. We need to start scripting more missions. Actually I had people join the mod for this purpose but it seems that nobody has actually done anything.
For their defence I must say that I haven't been very active either. My life has been filled by school projects... and when you code all day, you don't want to spend your spare time doing mission scripting. So, things haven't really moved anywhere since I've needed a break from all this AND there isn't really anyone else to do this stuff at the moment (except Revan67, did I mention he joined the team?). Modeling is at halt since we don't really have anyone qualified to do that. I just wish LogicSequence came back from wherever he disappeared.
But in the end I believe that this will get finished. Now is just a bad time. I hate abandoning projects.
The game arrived on saturday but I still haven't managed to play it yet :)
I've tried to be at irc but every time i log in, you jusas aren't there or are just AFK.
So i haven't been able to talk to you things you wanted to talk about (whatever they were, haven't had change to find out) ;)
I have ZERO talent when it comes to computer programming, though my knowledge of the B5 universe and my creativity are at your complete disposal.
Please, drop me a line if you (for whatever reason) need help with anything non-computer realated.

Anyway, if you're really interested there's a few tutorials around in the Nexus forums ([url]www.nexusthegame.com[/url]), I suggest you search for them there. The scripting isn't very trivial in the end but most people get put off because of the lack of graphical mission designer. Only ship placement is done with the graphical editor and the rest is left to be scripted by hand.
I'm hoping to get more activated these days as school is almost over. Still struggling with the last exams and projects.

oh and also about the construction of the babylon 5 ships, whats happening with that? is there someone that has done them or is there some help needed with that? i am working with maya ple just now and learning the basics but if i can help now or in future months when im hopefully a bit better jst drop me a line!

oh yeh and i will have to upgrade from the ple version to maya 6 or 7 before i can really help out cos of ple limitations. hopefully 7, jst need to find a good price.

The editing is done by hand and with the mission editor/mod tools that ships with the game. Here are my tutorials on the subject:

which ship is the player going to start off with? what sort of capabilities are you going to give the raiders? and is it based in a particular system that i should model from? i think you mentioned the orion system in the initial background release.

Basically you shouldn't really think of the details now, just study how to create working and exciting missions :) and how to instruct the AI.

But yea im still occasionally looking over the script when I get a moment to breathe. However, im done with my finals next week so I should be back to coding missions before the summer semester which starts roughly 3 weeks from now, plus or minus a few days but the good news is after the summer semester I am 250% done with school hurah!
The Mission im working on currently, is pretty simple the tricky thing is learning the camera.. The devlopers did not document well, not at all.
So no, its not dead just moving very slowly.
So im really not dead =P just being pulled in a million different directions but we'll see this mod done.
There is a skirmisher mod that allows the creation of simple scenarios with available models. At this stage, I'd be more than content to simply fiddle around with that.
