SOE has released Planetside Reserves last weekend. It is basically a completely free version of planetside, playable for a year.. only drawback: you can't advance past battle rank 6 (total of 25) and a command rank of 2 (highest is 5).
you have access to all weapons and vehicles (except for the big mechs) and even get access to the expansion (underground caves and additional features)
