Jack,
I'm inteested in your opinion n the Full Sail Game Development school. Are these places worth the expense? The site is impressive, just wonder if the education really provides an advantage in today's market.

Certifications, resume, and WHO YOU KNOW...are more likely to matter than the program you take.
Full Sail is expencive for one thing, and yes, you'll learn the programs, but really, you can do that on your own. And start developing mods to show developers you know what your doing.
But what do I know... LOL
The things to look at are the career assitance, research the grads to find out how they are doing, etc.
Looks pretty professional, and they seem to have current faculty who are in the biz.
Reminds me of DAVE school which is also in Orlando.
These schools can be pricey... But you have to decide whether you want to struggle on your own or do you want to pay for a little hand holding from someone who knows what they are talking about and can get you through the tough parts.
I for example knew how to build web pages, and managed an IIS server before I went to Vocational college to get a Web Design Certificate. It cost me ~$3k USD to get it, and 9 months of excellent class time. I learned so much more there than I could have on my own. I was challenged to do things I wouldn't have thought about doing as a self teaching process.
I also put and got everything I could into and out of it. Some people were just there to fill a seat...
I am very glad I did... Trying to do and learn all that on my own would have been futile.
But that's just me...
I'd love to spend a year at DAVE school for the $25 grand it would cost even though I've been in the biz already...
;)
