By far the best of those five.

I'll be damned if BSG doesn't win the Short Form Hugo with Pegasus.

    I don't know...

I have not seen wallace and gromit, but everyone I trust tells me it is absolutely fantastic. And Batman Begins was really great storytelling and presentation, too.
  • Wallace on Gromit is a fantastic film. I really can't decide whether to root for that or Serenity.

I should amend what I said to not include Wallace and Gromit. I haven't seen it, I absolutely love the original trilogy of shorts, and I'm still not sure it should even be in the running. Wallace and Gromit? Scifi? Seems like a stretch.

I was enormously disappointed with Batman Begins, though.

Wallace and Gromit is a superb film, but while it is best animated film oscar material, it's not really scifi award material.

  • Tough choice between Serenity and Narnia...

Forget it man, Biggles doesn't need a mask since he already has no face

But why nominate Batman in the sci-fi category?

    Batty Biggles perhaps?

I haven't seen Serenity yet (due for rental next month ;)) but I have seen the new Wallace & Gromit, and it could easily take the cake.

Somehow, however, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the winner would be Narnia.

Narnia does not deserve it. Sure, it was the film portrayal of one of my favorite childhood books, but...

No. It was just not a good movie, and was a weak dramatic presentation.

I also think batman can be redeemed because it was, in part, science fictiony.

Of those listed, Batman and Serenity are the most derserving. Wallace and Grommit was very good, but definitely should be Animation rather than Sci-Fi.

For some reason everytime I see anything concerning Firefly, I here those few chords strummed on guitar between scene changes...

  • I bought Curse of the Were Rabbit last week, and I can safely say that the film deserves the award. (Then again, I'm a bit biased as Sanfam may remember.) However, I've no doubt that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will win...
