    Ahh, SMAC. I actually "upgraded" to that game after getting sick of Civ3 and its dumbed-down combat system. I think SMAC handled artillery combat better than even Civ4. On the other hand I was a mite annoyed when I literally pulled the Morgan faction back from the brink of destruction, only to have them delcare war on me a few turns later. Oh well. Gaians were my favorite faction.

    The AI was often rather crappy. Betrayals that made no sense, Lal planetbusting the shit out everything, etc. Tha's just how ma boy Lal rolls, though. Bustas betta watch out, yo.
