    Well, it's a step, but it breaks MOO1 by using starlanes. That's one of my biggest complaints about MOO3. Games with starlanes, overall, aren't as fun.

    I just want MOO1 released to work on current-day systems without having to use an emulator. MOO2 sucked becuase they broke research and fleets. MOO3 sucked becuase they broke fleet movement (by using starlanes) and didn't fix research in any useful way, and the 3d starsystem interface just doesn't work on a 2d monitor.

    Guess I'll stick to [url=http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=3228]Stars! 2[/url]. :) The interface looks bad, but it's actually very well designed and the game is amazingly deep. Plus it's always had play-by-email (that [i]doesn't[/i] require you send the turns to the people in the right order). My friends and I have had so much fun playing that game.

    I think I played Stars way back based on those screenshots, but I have no clue where or when. Or even if I still have it somewhere. I think all I had was the demo, though.

    I've been addicted to Galatic Civilizations II. It does support mods so might be able to make a mod for it. It's simmular to MOO.

    Ahh if only I had time. I loved GalCiv one and really can't wait to play GalCiv2. But I suppose it will have to wait until summer, more money, and I have put a dent in Oblivion.
