Traceroute and ping both work, but the site still times out, whether I use the domain or the IP.

1. Are you running through a proxy server?
2. Are you having this same problem with any other sites?
3. What is the server directly before Firstones when you traceroute it?
(note - someone else will have to check if you are getting routed properly [number 3 that is] since my school blocks ping and traceroute through its proxy server.)

Maybe; I can get the Gamingforce main page ( [url="http://www.gamingforce.com/"]http://www.gamingforce.com/[/url] ), but not Gamingforce Audio ( [url="http://www.gamingforce.com/audio/"]http://www.gamingforce.com/audio/[/url] ). I've had a friend who can reach the FO main page try out Gamingforce Audio, and it doesn't work for him, either, so it could be that that page is just plain down.

hmmm - can someone get a trace route on Firstones to find out if the server before firstones is right? It always could be a DNS routing problem.
Otherwise it could also be a bad bad proxy server (or even firewall).
As for that Audio page, if you can get to the URL, then you can get to all subpages...

One other question: Can you get to mods.firstones.com ?
I doubt it's the DNS, since the raw IP doesn't work.

It still could be if its giving him bad routing data (say its feeding him back internally or into some infinate loop). I've had routing problems sometimes myself...but given that he is getting a positive ping I doubt thats it...
