...in New York?

If it didn't work in L.A. why do they think it would work in New York?

:p

Maybe it has something to do with the "why are Americans so dumb topic." ;) Then again, Sci-fi airs a ton of really bad movies, so this seems par for the course. The only thing I watch on it anymore are Galactica and the reruns of SG1.

The nice thing is, I enjoy most bad movies...and these are the perfect type. Pure grade-B schlock. Perfect for a quick round of mindless entertainment

I'm with you, I think that maybe people have gotten to used to the new type of disaster flick, the old B movies were great, i love most of the cheesy made for TV disaster type movies, no, they are not the best films in the world, but some of them are far more entertaining than some of the dreck that's made it to the big screen lately.

The blob is a classic. The remake, not the classic..

For those of us in the states, SpikeTV has recently purchased an ENORMOUS lot of B-grade and Kung Fu movies and has started airing them late at night as filler. A good deal of painful dialogue and disgustingly weak acting can be found there. Sort of like what TNT or someone similar used to have with "Up All Night" and MonsterVision. I miss those days.

Joe Bob Briggs cracked me up on MonsterVision. He was the main reason I would watch it. :)

Oh, I'd also like to mention that one of the best bits of entertainment came this year from Bruce Boxleitner in a Scifi Original movie Snakehead Terror...focusing on mutant fish growing to enormous sizes and gaining the ability to walk, breathe, and kill on land. Really fun stuff.

B SciFi is always great, hell Star Wars started out as B scifi, but i always loved movies like Day of the Triffids, The Day the Earth Stood Still, etc, classic b scifi. good stuff.

Hey, The Day The Earth Stood Still ain't no B-Movie! That's high-quality science fiction there. Don't mistake "Old and sans-color" as being b-movie qualifiers. They simply add to the overal effect. now..."This Island Earth" is most certainly a B-movie.

The MST3K version is definitely A-list comedy.

Old B-movies are also great for drinking games as well.:D
