If it didn't work in L.A. why do they think it would work in New York?

The nice thing is, I enjoy most bad movies...and these are the perfect type. Pure grade-B schlock. Perfect for a quick round of mindless entertainment
I'm with you, I think that maybe people have gotten to used to the new type of disaster flick, the old B movies were great, i love most of the cheesy made for TV disaster type movies, no, they are not the best films in the world, but some of them are far more entertaining than some of the dreck that's made it to the big screen lately.
For those of us in the states, SpikeTV has recently purchased an ENORMOUS lot of B-grade and Kung Fu movies and has started airing them late at night as filler. A good deal of painful dialogue and disgustingly weak acting can be found there. Sort of like what TNT or someone similar used to have with "Up All Night" and MonsterVision. I miss those days. Joe Bob Briggs cracked me up on MonsterVision. He was the main reason I would watch it. :)
Good stuff.
Hey, The Day The Earth Stood Still ain't no B-Movie! That's high-quality science fiction there. Don't mistake "Old and sans-color" as being b-movie qualifiers. They simply add to the overal effect. now..."This Island Earth" is most certainly a B-movie.
Ahhh "This Island Earth" i haven't seen that in So many years, i gotta find that on DVD.
