Ivanova 2262 book coming out from Mongoose

It looks like published material for B5 will go limping along. I really hope this 2262 (5th season) book on Ivanova is interesting and well written. A lot banks on the sucess of this novel. I doubt we will see any new series or movies any time soon but a stream of novels could at least answer questions and keep things alive enough that new television material is considered.

    This is my hope as well (and infact is also the same hope for fans of the Firefly universe). Books are a different medium as well as we see HOW characters view and think about the universe around them, and this should be capitalized on.

    No big booms tho.

    I don't see anything about a novel there, just about B5 role playing and Claudia appearing at something for it. Am I just lost here?

    I thought mongoose was the one that JMS disowned, and as such none of their stuff is canon.

    The people at Mongoose have hinted that Claudia Christian would write a book about Ivanova in 2262.

    Post #27 is interesting, a reply from Mongoose to the newsgroup.
    See page 3 for rumor of CC novel, and a mention that the talks between JMS and Mongoose had re-started.

    Maybe there's still hope that there will be novels and they'll be canonical.
    If they are disowned by JMS I'm not too interested. Even if Claudia Christian wrote a novel about what Ivanova was up to after season 4, if that does not come from an outline approved by JMS I'll pass.

    Long thread but interesting. JMS and Warner Bros and mongoose don't mix. Mongoose rebuttle was honest, I can't see any publisher asking a writer to work for free.
