I'd like if nothing else to replace my front and center channel speakers, all i've got are the little JVC's that came with the unit, Not that they are bad, cause they are actually pretty sweet little 100watt speakers.

Someone should lend out their renderfarm and rerender some of those shots for the DVD

Maybe I just need to get a DVD player anyway

I wonder why they don't re-render the cgi stuff. The company must not have kept very good archives of the LW models and setups, or else doing the re-rendering would be a simple CPU time issue.

Ah well, I doubt that much important would be lost in a cropping of the scenes anyways.

Now, just hope sales for the first season justify them releasing the rest afterwards.
• samuelksamuelk The Unstoppable Mr. 'K'
That would be VERY expensive and time consuming.

But yes, you're right. A lot of the CGI archives (models, scenes, keyframed sequences, etc.) were lost between the different companies.

I'm sure they would love to rerender it all. Only, the thing is... WB lost all the original data. Models, scenes everything. They had to get the stuff they gave to Sierra off them for the LotR pilot.

If i remember right JMS has stated that the Gag Reel will NEVER be released to the public, because its not ment for the public. it was ment for the cast and crew only.

That being said, It sure is funny!

I would bet they weren't lost... they were stolen. Many fans who would have loved to have their hands on it, and some figured they would never be used again.

Just a thought of course.... it wasn't me

Note: Get a DVD-ROM for your PC. They're far cheaper. Hell, you can get a 16X DVD-ROM for around $50 USD these days.

I much prefer my computer DVD player than my set top set anyways... Looks better, and I can zoom into pan and scan for movies where I don't care about widescreen.

Throw in another $50 and you can get a decent MPEG decoder card, and output it to your TV anyway.

thats what i did until i stole my parents DVD player since they weren't using it.

My daughter uses her DVD drive with no card, just on her monitor to watch DVD's in her room.

Or what you can do is use the TV out function of your video card if it has a second output jack.

btw, www.newegg.com

Sony 16X DVD for just under $50.

Right, if it does good mpeg decoding, I picked up a DVD drive and a Decoder card for about $100 bucks a few years ago, and even picked up a remote control for it. works great, the only reason i dont use it now and have a set top DVD is cause when we moved i got a real office and the computer isn't close enough to the TV.

How do the TV-Out video cards to for resolution on the TV when you are playing DVD's?

Not if you have a good sound card and your TV isn't a home theatre system.
