I wrote about the finnish independence to one site, and then some german guy started complaining to me about the number 88.

Oh woe! We all must now forsake the unholy number that is 88, because some crackpots think it's a holy number or whatever.

So, either we remove one year or skip straight to 89?

    Ha, those crazy Germans. :p Some people just have issues with coming to terms with their own past. :D

    I mean, sure, if you would've waved 88 around for nothing, then I would've understood that, but hey, it IS our nation's 88th Anniversary of independence... come on people, use some brains here. :)

    88, when you add 'mm' = one of the single best Naval and land artillery pieces used by either side. The land 88 was excellent, and the Navy 88 (completely different gun) was also excellent.
