The end to a perfect day...

I just had a thoroughly miserable day on the job today. Enough bitchy customers to give me a few more grey hairs. But the worst was afterwards. I got into a car accident. A real accident, not that parking-lot blunder I had a while back. My brakes skidded on snow and I rear-ended someone.

God and I haven't exactly been on speaking terms for a while, but I owe him/her/it some major thanks tonight. Neither of us were hurt, and our cars weren't seriously damaged. I stopped shaking a little while ago, but my knee's a bit sore.

Here's the real irony. Just before I left work I'd offered a girl a ride home, but she said she'd been in an accident and couldn't handle getting in cars for a while. After that chat I even made a mental note to be careful on the snowy roads. Sheesh. I'm not even going to eat dinner before I go to bed, doubt I could hold it down.

So much for leaving work being the best time of the day :(

Sounds like a pretty awful day. :( At least you can be glad that it's over now.

Indeed. hopefully tomorrow will be a lot better.
  • Thanks guys. Messiah your screename's well chosen, because the next day was a pretty good day. Sure you don't have some inside info going on there? :)

My knee's slowly getting better, but Im staying off the treadmill for a while. As for my car, the bumper's cracked in a couple places. Only cosmetic damage, which I could care less about.

As for the woman I ran into, I only broke her tail light. I'm still amazed I didn't do more damage. She didn't freak out nearly as much as I thought. And considering the way women have been acting towards me lately, she's in the minority  We agreed to leave the insurance companies out of the loop if I paid for the tail light, and that was fine by me. Still waiting to hear back from her though.

Good to hear things turned out (mostly) alright in the end. It's nice that the other person isn't being a pain, too.
  • Aren't you the same guy who said people were randomly give you weird looks and yelling at you?

Stay safe my friend, And walk that knee and take a little glucosimin condroitin...Takes a few weeks to kick in but it will improve your running. Especially if your a distance runner like myself.

Glad that everything is alright- stay safe!
  • Update: Woman finally got back to me. Total repair tab came up to $244. And I'm like, "That's it? That's all??" Here I was expecting at least 500. She said her neck was sore for a while, but she's better now. So all's right with the world once more :)
