  it's gonna have to wait till i get back from vacation, i'm having a bear of a time gettng MySql running on my new FreeBSD box, and since we're leaving for 2 weeks starting tonight, i've no time to fix it until we get back.

  I ran G2 for a while, and was considering switching back but decided against it because of the effort involved.
  
  Then someone hacked it and killed the database. Problem solved! ;)
  
  Now I run Gallery 1.5 (See the link in my signature), and it's nearly perfect for what I want. It's also notably faster, too.
