Old JMS Posts

I was browsing www.jmsnews.com looking for some new info when I saw they had some posts from '91 when B5 ws in development.

There is some great stuff in these early posts. It is fasinating to read JMS vision of the show and see how it changed.

Example: when first mentions the Earth-Minbari war he had it ending in 2252.

Then the next time he talks about it it starts in 2236 and he has it lasting about 11 years!

Another amazing revelation was that Delenn was originally a male character!

I highly recommend that you should take some time and read these posts.

Yes, they make a great read. There's also a promotion poster floating around somewhere that was from when he was developing the idea. It's quite amusing to compare what B5 actually looks like now with the concept on that poster, and read the descriptions of the characters.

Delenn was originally male (the poster uses "him"), but in the Gathering, he/she became asexual, then female because the voice alterer thing they were going to use sounded horrible.

I have a copy of that poster--I think it's in the B5 Bible.

G'Kar was also originally spelled Jakar (or something similar).

It's a pretty neat poster; interesting to see the differences.
