Dont s'pose it'll mean much to many of you guys, but its the 400th Anniversary of Guy Fawkes Gunpowder plot to assassinate the King of Britain tonight, celebrated here with bonfires and fireworks.
Im just about to go up Arthur's Seat to watch the fireworks here in Edinburgh. Its about 8pm and the fireworks have been going for about 2 hours now. It sounds like a war zone out there! I've only got my camera phone, but I'll try and take some pics for y'all!:D

Guy Fawkes never really rang a bell on me until I read V for Vendetta.
Biggles: 2 years ago some idiots managed to set Arthur's Seat on fire in 2 different places, and the fire trucks could only reach one of them. the 2nd one had to fought with fire exstinguishers carried up.
there were lots of pretty explosions tonight, and they're still going on outside as well. got a couple of pics but they're pretty lousy quality. might post them later when i can bothered finding my link cable
And gotten bored of them lately.. not much proper ones in Finland atleast..
It's all too nice and quiet now. Not a proper bang to it.
The stuff they sell these years doesnt have any balls to it.
I honestly never understood Guy Fawkes day. That's the sort of antiestablishment sentiment that would never fly with mainstream America, let alone be comemmorated with a holiday. Ironic, really.
But, on the other hand, we're the ones who had the revolution and made Star Wars. So just how pro-establishment can mainstream America be, eh?

It's actually pro-establishment. celebrating the fact the man was caught and executed

King of England. The Treaty of Union between England and Scotland was in 1707. ;)
