curse you apple!!!! curse you to the depths of hell!!!

i swear im never going to get another ipod ever again!1 month out of the warranty and the damn thing is falling apart! it cant read from the disk, the computer cant read from the ipod, the itunes library has become corrupted...the list goes on. do you have any idea how long it takes to convert 2000 songs from wmv to mp3 format?!? and now after leaving the pc on overnight working on this, i've uploaded about 2/3 of the 3192 songs onto the ipod which tool 4 hours or so, and its now decided that the ipod is unreadable and i have to restore it to factory settings and start again!

as far as i can see, the only thing the ipod has going for it is that apple turned it into a fashion accessory! if it werent so expensive i'd throw it out the window, jump up and down on it and chuck it upder a bus:mad:

This actually leads to a good question. I was considering getting a CD changer for my car since all the radio stations in St. Louis suck, and although I haven't bought a CD in two years, I have a ton I still love to listen to when I'm at home.

Then I had a thought, rather than spend the money on a CD changer and only be able to store, at most 144 songs, including songs I may not like, what about an MP3 or iPod. My problem, I have yet to find one that integrates nicely with the car. There is a nice docking accessory built for the iPod that keeps things simple, but for most other players out there, I haven't found any good solutions...any suggestions.

when i drive about with the ipod attached, i usually just have it sitting on the ledge under the dials on the dash. either that, or we had a generic hands free phone holder that worked very well. then get one of those cassette things, i dunno what they're called, but you stick them in like a normal cassette but they have a lead attached that you plug into you ipod/mp3/cd player's headphone socket and it plays like a cassette

Complain to Apple mate. Its just out of warranty which is not acceptable. I know a guy on a mac user group I'm a member of and his failed just out of warranty too. He complained like hell and got it replaced. Basically there's a "reasonable acceptable life span" for products. Which was his arguement and it worked.

My 3+ yr old gen 2 10gb iPod is going great, never had any problems at all.
