Footage

StarStar Trainee
I did a search and couldn't find anything on this.

What happened to the footage of the actors for this game?

It has been lost. No one knows if it has been destroyed or it is in some Sierra garbage pit. *sigh*

BTW, with THE author ever write about what part Lorien plays in ItF?

(where is is real Lorien anyways, or has he moved on to better things beond the rim?)

In ITF Lorien was to have graced the intro movie to the game and the tags for the various kinds of game endings...or deaths.

The video original reels were shipped to Bellevue, Washington when the Oakhurst, California studio was closed. I have no idea what happened to the footage after that. When we were trying to put together our independent effort to finish the game, we were told that all assets were being stored. But when Sierra backed out of their promise, saying "they didn't need the money" (LOL), we were told that all assets had been tossed. Whether or not this is true is anyone’s guess, as far as I know.

Which reminds me...wasn't someone going to find out about what happened to the scale model Star Fury?

Not flogging a dead horse or anything, but it has always seemed to me that when Sierra said the assets were tossed it sounded like they wanted to get Sector 14 off the case. With no assets there was no game. Just another one of those possibilities.

I really doubt they would throw them out. The worst thing that would have happened is that they would have been lost due to poor book keeping or something.

That would've not been a surprise... maybe they were so embarrased that they just raised the price for the content so high that S14S wouldn't have had that much money.

BAM... one problem out of the way.

A business make a book keeping mistake?!? Never!

    Hmm Good Book Keeping...
Income - Cost + (strange algarithm to keep investors happy, often multiply by -1) = "We rate this company a 'Strong Buy' for World Com"

While I don't favor more regulation, you'll forgive me cynicism when it comes to the issue of business competance these past few days.

Actually, I have to say I am quite pleased with the way all these corporations are being opened up and the revelations about abuses of power. I'm hoping it leads to more restrictions on how much corporations can **** with the common people. Of course, there's the danger it will go to far the other way as well.

Now if we would only start holding them accountable for their actions in 3rd world countries.

And it would be nice to see them quit shipping U.S. jobs off to places where they can exploit people who are forced to work for 13 cents and hour.

As much as I'm not fond of the practice, I feel it should be noted that people in third-world countries work for those rates because, low as they are, they happen to be better than the alternatives. It seems to me that the companies are able to get away with paying so little because they don't have any competition. Coca-Cola, for instance, holds a pretty much absolute monopoly throughout Middle and South America. Bring Pepsi Co. in in force, and the two should start competing for workers.

I doubt that would work. There are so many people wanting jobs, they wouldn't need to compete.
