Yes there is, and I use it at home. It’s a cutting edge technology that, at its core, involves the use of a small switch which you tap in specific sequences to send electrical pulses, the sequence of which is then recorded and deciphered by the receiver.

This exciting form of telegraphic communication is really the wave of the future, no longer will people have to lug bulky computing units around just to send and receive messages when a small switching device will do the trick. And just think what fun the kids will have! Instead of boring text messages, children will have hours of enjoyment receiving a decoding exchanges with their friends!

I forgot where I read/saw it, but Morse was actually proven to be faster than SMS in the hands of experienced users of the respective medium

Getting that was a nice feeling...

Difference to speed of analog modem is even more apparent after using broadband for some time and then having to use slow connection...
I've had to use few times cellphone's GPRS (through bluetooth) as laptop's internet connection while checking weather radar data from site of Finnish Meteorological Institute's project with stormchasers... and downloading that ~0.5 MB per page isn't nice at speed of analog modem.

It's been getting pretty awful over the past couple of weeks. I mean...there's been dupes left and right now of articles which, on occasion, have been *months* old.

I think the best one I've seen was the two year old dupe of a article on shrimp bandages.
