Oh no I've created a monster

Any other firstones work out regularly? I've only been doing it occasionally, until now. This last week I've been doing a half-mile treadmill run, pushups & situps every day. Then I got lazy for two days and I felt like CRAP. Cranky, short-tempered, out of sorts.. even more so than usual for me I guess :)

*stares longingly at treadmill... preeeciousss*

Well I run anywhere from 3-6 miles a day sometimes barefoot...I also completed the half marathon on Long Island...IT SUCKED!

Treadmill is for pussies raise your incline at least to 1.5 otherwise your not building your muscles.

I also do knee bends & do some weight training especially for my hams & calves.

I know SB does stair climbing thats probably a little to monotonous for me though.

YEah I'd probably have killed myself by now without it.

Someone should make a plugin for WoW that tells you how far you've run each day.

I'm kind of a health nut...

Summers:

Tue Wed Thu and either Sat or Sunday I swim 3.5-4 Kilometers in a nice 50 meter outdoor pool with a view of the valley and moutains.

Every day in the morning I do 100 crunches and some curls with stretchcords to tone the bicepts. ~ I say tone because I can't ever seem to get "big."

Winters:

I work as a Cross Country instructor on the weekends and try to ski 20-30K each day plus whatever I do when I'm giving lessons or patroling.

During the week for winters I'll run ~ go to the gym ~ or just ensure that I do more walking, pushup, situps etc.

I also do some backpacking~ lots of hiking in the canyons ~ and I'm trying to get into Crew out on the Great Salt Lake.

I have the same problem you do ~ if I fall out of my patern I get pissy real fast and feel slugish.

Weights and calisthenics three times a week. Also do Bas Rutten's MMA workout tapes every once in a while.

Key to building mass is high resistance, intensity and a low amount of reps rather than low resistance and a high amount of reps. Gots ta tear them fibers if they're going to rebuild bigger ;)

Yeah well not all of us can use 50 pound weights without my damn arm falling off. Tha answer? STERIODS!
• CurZCurZ Resident Hippy
You have to work your way up, the weight depends on your own strength. If you have to start with 2 pounds, that's still what it takes for you. Until you get to 4, then 8, then 16 etc.
• CurZCurZ Resident Hippy
And 50 pounds is actually pretty little once you get going. The human machine is incredible.
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
Yeah, Ive been lazy this summer, but apart from smithing (which is workout in itself), I do weights at least twice a week, run a lot, and Sauna.. ;)
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I'm a lazy SOB when it comes to doing this stuff. Add that to the fact that my treadmill is fried and the weather has been hovering around 100% humidity...you just won't see me get out much ;)

Get your elbows replaced with improved bionic ones then :D

Using Steroids: It's not your arms falling off that you should worry about ~ it's your nuts. :nervous: {Can I say that? :p }

I've seen steroids abused in university sports first hand. The mood swings and roidal rages are not something to mess with nor is it fair.

Plus I wish the women who go after these meatheads would learn that they are only setting themseves up with someone who sooner or later will phyiscally and metally abuse them.

I feel if you get caught using you should be banned from every amature and profesional sport for life the first time every time. Every roider out there has robbed a clean person satisfaction for hard work.

well I crawl up a sheer rockface with my eyelids every second day...

bench press a diesel locomotive every day before breakfast, (atleast 20 reps)

on Sundays the Navy likes to use me for live torpedo firing exersises... theres nothing like the chance of being blown up to get your motorvation... though towing a 30 tonne barge at a sustained 60 kts is a bit difficult...

:P

How exactly do you exercise inside your tank anyway? Synchronized swimming? Oh I get it.. next time I see a tank on wheels rolling through a park I won't wonder :)

As far as running 1.5 miles I'm still haven't quite shed my Couch Potato Certification. But I'm also determined enough these days to try and break through my limits.

I worked out today before working, and lo and behold I wasn't cranky anymore... until I almost lost my passcard, but that's another story :)

I'm in the Finnish army and that's enough workout for me.
• I walk pretty much everywhere if my destination is within 3 miles. I'm a skinflint when it comes to forking-out for public transport. ;)
