There are 4 samples of the Serenity soundtrack.
It's great to hear that, although the music isn't composed by Greg Edmondson (who did the music for the TV Show) it still has a similar sound, the whole "Western" sound, mixed with a bit of eastern and contemporary styles is just great.
Oh, and there's a (very, very minor) spoiler in the track titles, you could say.

Well, we'll see how the music works with the pictures in a few months... (November 24th... i think i'm gonna kill someone *grrrr* maybe i should just fly to England to watch the movie... might even be cheaper..)
Edit: Oh, yeah, you're in Germany. D'oh!
And i'm REALLY thinking about flying to London to watch the movie, just out of spite, because we have to wait that long, without there beeing any discernable reason... i mean, the film is finished, has a worl premiere on august 22nd, so there should be more than enough time to dub it (not that i'm going to see it in german.... you just can't translate joss whedon..)
And then in the rest of Austria, there are probably about 6 or 7 cinemas showing the original language versions of movies...
The problem is, that often some films don't even start in the english cinemas... There was one this year (though i can't remember what it was... not really a small movie though), that just wasn't shown in english...
good cinemas in vienna keep dieing. the old traditionals bite the dust while they are pumping out cineplex after cineplex :(
Apparently Australia will be getting the movie on the 29th of September, so hopefully NZ will too. Why the 29th? Because over here movies open on the Thursday. :) The LotR movie release dates everywhere else were dictacted by this simple fact.

Joss Whedon wanted to use Edmondson, but the studio wanted someone who had done more feature film work (Edmonson hadn't done any feature films).

That stinks. Could have at least given the guy a chance. Sure they might as well have said the same of Whedon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer being his only movie director role before Serenity. Oh well. As long as they bring Edmondson back for when the tv series is brought back on the air :D

Joss didn't direct the Buffy movie.
In fact, the reason, why it is so different from the show is because the director didn't "get" the script and changed stuff..
