    Does no one know the story behind why Peter Jackson is making this movie? The original 1930's King Kong was the first movie to get Jackson excited about filmmaking and is still his favorite. This is not some director rehasing old films, attempting to make a quick buck, this is a man who's getting to reproduce the movie that first drew him to movies. Will it be LOTR, no, but I have a feeling Jackson will treat it with a kind of care no other director would.

    Peter Jackson is quite fond of telling the media here about how, when he was a kid, he remade King Kong using little toys. :)

    I am a pretty big fan of Jackson, as I've always noticed he tends to respect that which he works with. I'm suspecting this will be nothing abnormal (at least in terms of his work).

    Plus, It's King Kong! Looks just fine and dandy to me! :D

    Looks like a pretty good film, especially from a militaria perspective; plenty of Thompson M1928 action! Like A#, Jackson did a decent job with LOTR, I can see why he can't utilize the same talent in retelling King Kong. :)

    I think its the idea that Jack Black is in it thats got everybody worried :D

    Last good movie I watched that Jack Black was in was High Fidelity, but he was only a minor character. John Cusak was the lead :D
