What? No BSG discussion after S1?
Vorlons in my Head
The Vorlons told me to.
in Zocalo v2.0
It occured to me that after all the talk and exitement about Battlestar Galactica just as it was getting started and now that season 1 is over no one has mentioned anything?
I'm counting the hours remaining until July for the second season start. Must have more BSG! The entire first season was just incredible. The show never really let down or have any weak and boring episodes. The edge of your seat feel ran all the way into the season finale which had me jumping off my chair at that last scene!

S1 finished a few months ago :)
Exactly, and no one's mentioned anything since.
Opinions, comments, rants? anyone? Whatcha all think??? Bueller? Bueller?
Can't dispute that, but the title is still silly as hell.
The tile just carries the baggage from the old BSG.
In itself, it's just the name and class of the Ship... Like "Battleship Potemkin".
If you'd seen at least one episode of the show, you'd be able to see that ;)
However, if Battleship Potemkin had instead been called Battlestar Galactica, I'd be laughing my ass off over Eisenstein's grave.
You don't see anything even possibly corny in Battlestar? In Galactica? Come on.
Well, is Galactica a weird name for a spaceship, yes. The way i see it is not as a corny TV-show name, i look at the (fictional) history of the (new) BSG universe.
The Galactica was one of the 12(?) original Battlestars. originally each of the 12 Colonies hat one Battlestar. Of course each is gonna try to give their battlestar the grandest (is this a word?) name.

No, not a thing.

Nope. It's a scifi show, things are supposed to be large, both in name and size.
And when it isn't just the name of a ship but the name of the show, movie, or book, it places an amount of dramatic weight on the name— in this case, weight that it can't hold.
Bah. I just can't take the name seriously. It smacks of cheesy sci fi camp, even if, from what I've seen, the show itself does not.

Cant hold? Battlestar Galactica is the best show since B5 and Farscape!

I agree, I thought Babylon 5 sounded pretty damned corny at first. But the asme applies to both shows. Just watch them and when everythign falls into place it doesn't sound silly any more. Watch the show completely and just ignore the title. I think you'll be pleased.
Also, White Star may not be the best ship name ever, but it is a fair step up from Battle Star.
Am I the only person on the planet who seems to have been annoyed by the somewhat odd pacing of activity within the episodes? I liked the series as a whole because I knew it had an interesting final result, but the individual episodes themselves were often lacking any truly interesting, involving development for upwards of 25 minutes. There are notable exceptions like 33 and The Hand of God (I think that's the title) and such, but it seemed to be a running problem.
If it wasn't for that, I'd probably be damned close to worshipping the show :D
Other than that, Baltar as I predicted appears as if every single one of his actions and outcome of them are the result of Six's manipulation. By the last episode it seems he's pretty much given into the cylons completely.
Spoiler:
The cylons understand that they were created by man, and that man was created by the gods. In knowing this, they know that they are only one step away from that same level of closeness to the gods, and so are attempting to further their spirituality by breeding with humans, producing cylons who are, in part, directly created by the gods, rather than humans or cylons.
