Scar tissue is more or less completely smooth. Wax won't get much of a grip on it. Besides, a fully healed wound resulting in a scar is more or less just as tough as (and sometimes tougher than) the original tissue.
yeah Im one of those guys with the austin powers carpet growing on my chest. Its a genetic thing, my dad just looks like a short bigfoot.
Thankfully my wife likes the chest hair. Although, she hates the patches that grow on my back and she shaves them from time to time.
When it comes to facial hair, I have very thick coarse facial hair, I eat up a good razor on about the second shave. I have been using the Schick Quatro lately and it does a good job. However, I try to wait at least 2-3 days between shaving because my face breaks out regardless of what product I use. I have tried all the new gellete stuff, some nuetragena stuff, and some other crap that didnt work.
You should check out the site I linked to. You'd probably be pretty damn surprised at the different proper products and prep can make in grooming. (It won't make you gay.)

just to scare the young ones Ill post this...
That picture is not so scary... is just how I look in the mirror.:)
However my wife is not so in love with my hairiness, much less because I'm losing hair on top.
Once I shaved my chest off at her request, I ended up quite irritated as the hair grew out again. I've rarely trimmed it, with my beard/moustache trimmer, it does look like you're less hairy when it's short (and Croxis, if I got your meaning right, some things look bigger when you trim the hair;)). BUt I prefer my natural (manly!) hairy chest look.
For shaving I use a Norelco electric razor, a regular razor, even a 3 blade one, just doesn't cut it (pun intended) for a close shave on my face.
The Norelco did irritate my skin a bit the first few days (just like it said in the instructions), but that's not a problem anymore.
Yes, some things just look bigger, but looks are everything!
The only thing I shave other than my face (which I am not in protest to the universe as long as I am sick) is my unibrow and a random patch of hair on the left side of my back.

Gah. I hate that term. The site I linked to, incidentally, also wrote an article on that.
