Mod Teaser Mission/Vid?

I saw logic mention the possibility of a teaser vid/mission being made and was wondering if I could take a stab at it?

I have plans for a campaign mod of my very own that I'm writing up in my spare time but I don't want to even think of starting on it only to start getting into this one when we're ready to roll on the scripting part, so I'm at a loose end for making missions.

For now I can easily make an intro using ships already in Nexus as a "set" for making solar systems and showing off different ideas for camera angles and events. It also means if you like it we can simply replace the entity models used once they are ready and with a few very minor tweaks the teaser is ready?

I'm only really asking atm becuase I'm in a lull as making my own missions go right now and need somthing to play with so to speak.

Anywho, it's all up to you :)

Only problem is that i'm the only one that has all the new ships at the moment.

And while i was the one that said we'd talk it over and think about it, that doesn't really mean i think we should do it NOW. Personally i think we should wait a little bit longer before we release a vid, lest the populous think we are very close to a playable version :(. i dunno, thats just my 2 cents.

Sorry, I didn't mean that we make and release one, just if it's ok for me to go ahead and start messing with setting one up using nexus ships as place holders for now.

Just somthing for me to mess with really.

Well there is always chance for creating sort of teaser now but with fast cuts and nothing which would actualy show anything. Perhaps some close captures of some ships (like engines and illumaps) with big texts on front and distant fighting. End scene of omega passing by firing few shots with end text.

    But better wait.

    One word: expectations.

It's better to keep them too low than too high. Hype can be destructive, it's better to let it all come out at once than to show everything constantly. It gets old pretty quick and once you show them some nice stuff they expect to get at LEAST that.

Not that I'm saying that we shouldn't make a teaser ;) We should just make it selectively. Good cuts, a cutscene-like short vid.

But generally speaking it's better to keep a low profile and not take pressure on releasing the end product. It's ready when it's ready and not before. No release dates should ever be given.
