The One Sentence Hitchhiker's Guide Review (no spoliers, yet)

croxiscroxis I am the walrus
It was not as great as it could/should have been, slightly holliwoodized, but not bad in any way; It was worth seeing in the theater.

Ok, upon thinking back, I really liked the movie. Also there is a postscript that simply says "For Douglas"

correct me if I'm wrong, but at the very end, the improbability drive also shows Duglas's face?

ugh, i had to go to a funeral 400 miles away yesterday, as i was driving home i passed a theatre in Mass somewhere that was showing it at midnight, and i was going to go, but was just too tired, and since i swas driving all night, i was too tired to go see it today, so i'm going to go try and see it tomorow, and i shall be bringing my towel.

I don't think it did very well there was all of 20 people in the theater & half of them were making out. I didn't like the way they portrayed Beeblebrox but whatever...Sticking to the books is probably a good idea.

I saw the movie and got the soundtrack. You're right...The Dolphin song. The Sorcerer anthem was pretty cool too.

Okay, good movie. I like Marvin better in the mini-series, and the guide for that matter. The Vogons, Earth II, Heart of Gold and the Vogon fleet were incredible. I liked Trillian and Arthur Dent. Ford was a bit flat and Beeblebrox was less likable that he might have been. He reminded me of Robin Williams as the King of the Moon in Baron Munchausin.

    Yes you should see it.

    One word: fun.

They nailed the improbability drive. Perfect.

    Things I didn't like:

    Spoiler:

Ford seemed, as has been said, a bit flat rather than perpetually carefree and Zaphod seemed like an asshole rather than just someone with a huge ego.

The humour was sort of washed over.

The sighing doors.
Things I did like:

    Spoiler:

The Guide was done excellently.

The Heart of Gold computer voice was spot on.

I.I. Drive was excellent.

They kept the whale and the bowl of petunias, one of my favorite bits of the book, right down to the last detail.

Arthur was played perfectly.

The final entry by the guide in the end credits.

Slartibartfast.

Douglas Adams' head in 3D.

The TV series Marvin in the queue.

The beautiful placement of the original theme music as the book appeared in space after the destruction of Earth.
