And Cnet gobbles up another good site only to relaunch it as a steaming pile of crap...

    Angry. Very Angry.

    Pardon my drazi, but...

Fuck this. Fuck the internet. I feel I should enhance the drama of this situation by retiring from the interweb.

I don't understand why sites like that have so much trouble staying independent. Is it the lure of enhanced viewership? Or the prospective of a paying job as a webmaster versus volunteer time? Or is it just inability to afford hosting?

The same thing has happened over and over, especially in regards to film and TV sites (Example: Coming Attractions, which was purchased by cinescape who obliterated the archives and easy navigation and sorting system). I am sick of it. TV Tome [is] a perfect resource.

I think it's a mixture of all 3, with particular emphasis on being able to claim being a webmaster as their job rather than just volunteering (even if they don't have a job and all their income is from advertising on the site).

Well... looks like that site will be soon removed from bookmarks.

And MP3.com is now completely useless crap!
For example before they had really well working "database" of MP3 players but now after that commercialization you can't find sh*t! :angryv:
