Anyone truely interested fan should wait until the last hour of the last day of the auction to bid on any of the more affordable items because all those that are bidding now are doing is drive the prices up unnecessarily since chances are someone is going to bid higher. In the end you may run out of time but at least you won't run out of money. ;)

That would be the captain's uniform jacket, not the crew jacket (yet).
I'm a bit surprized that JMS is only selling half a dozen items so far when he's complaining that he supposedly has two storage units full of collector's items and props that he wants to sell.
And he sure isn't trying to get the average fan to buy any of it looking at the money involved. I sure don't have 1G burning a hole in my pocket. :(
On the plus side:
>Please tell me that you will be willing to ship outside the US
As a courtesy to anyone who picks this stuff up, I'm going to be
sending everything out fed ex, to make sure it arrives safely (and only
charging like five bucks), so that means it can go internationally as
well.

He's probably letting a few of them finish first. Nothing wrong with taking things slowly.

It's not jms setting high prices, it's people bidding high. You can't blame jms for the fact that people are willing to pay lots for this stuff. Besides, it is very valuable stuff.

I'm not blaming anyone. It's not my money. :D
I can just imagine what anyone's girlfriend/wife/mom would say if you'd tell her you paid 2Gs for a pair of action figures. I could be wrong, but I very much doubt it. That's 2Gs not going to the kid's college fund. :D
Same for the uniform jacket, 1.1G's for a jacket... chances are it won't even fit. :D
I think I'll wait and see what else JMS wants to get rid of. :)

Oooh, I want that! Does anyone know if theres any way to get a copy?..
I think I'll bid on the paper napkin with his autograph on it for $9.95. :(
I'm actually glad the auction is going so great, that means there are capitalist fans out there who appreciate Babylon 5. There is hope after all. :)
Perhaps this auction will allow JMS to partially autofinance his next B5 project. He can make in one week of auctions more money than some can make in a year.
Another good thing is we get a good look at props we only saw faintly in the show. All you modders out there, take notice!!
Speaking of which, I'm presuming someone out here is taking down all the pictures and stories behind each piece for posterity. I should (and, indeed, probably will) do it myself, but I'd like to know. As said, these are some awfully nice pictures, and the descriptions are pretty good, too. You'd think they were written by some sort of professional story writer or something. ;)
Also, I just visited Peter David's website and, all I can say is, son of a bitch!
The man who wrote the episode was beaten when he tried to get the Londo doll. And thanks to a freak computer mishap, no less.
As an aside, I remember an interview where Peter Jurasik said he realized after filming had wrapped that he should've swiped the doll from the prop people, but it was gone by the time he tried.
Was there anyone on that show who didn't want it as a souvenir?

If i had enough money to scrape together, i'd bid high on that medal, i mean come on, Sinclair's medal from the line? how good would that look on a display case! especially since i collect coins and medals, i'd just sneak it in with some of my display coins and see if anyone noticed what it was.

My point is, I'm certainly not going to bet my farm and savings on trinkets. That's all. I thought my point was rather obvious.
