Question about series 5

I dont know if this ahs been answered (it probably has) But why isnt there a 2nd in command for B5 in series 5? I thought it was that Leuitenant guy (the 1 who tohguht Ivanova asked him out on a date) But he dosnt wear the funky uniform wich is the "tradition" for the command staff to wear. Its been bugging me for ages :P Thx hehe

    I think the reason he doesn't wear much of a uniform is because B5 is still an independant station at that point.

    My guess is since second-in-command isn't as visible as an assignment as security chief (especially since Lochley took over most of Ivanova's duties, but not Sheridan's diplomacy function), it wasn't as important that he get one of the black uniforms.

    In fact, that reminds me of something that bothered me about Season 5. Who's representing the Earth Alliance on the ISA council? They should have an ambassador, or at least have Lochley show up at the meetings like Sheridan and Sinclair did. It's doubly odd because, if you look closely, you'll see the little name plaque in from of Sheridan still reads "Earth Alliance." Whoops.

    I think a lot of the 5th season was focusing on the new ISA rather then on the station itself. There were lots of things about the station that didn't show up anymore that were in the first 4 seasons.

    IIRC Lt. Corwin (that was his name) was promoted to Lt. Commander by the end of the 4th. season or beginning of the 5th. This would give him the necessary rank to be second in command, such as Ivanova at the beginning.

    I would also guess that the only available Lt. Cmdr. uniforms that B5 had in stock wouldn't fit him. :D

    Good point about Sheridan representing Earth Alliance (after leading a revolt against the EA no less!) and presiding over the ISA at the same time....
