    Is it strong enough for sparring with against (for example) a similar blade?

    Not recommended by the manufacturer for that, but some friends of mine with these have had duels and none broken yet.

    I have the Darth Vader vesion, which is very well constructed.

    Alaric: as AnlaShok said, its not designed for duels, but as long as you dont really smash them together and are reasonably gentle with it you should be ok.

    I got it mainly for display purposes and a fancy dress party;)) so i dont really know how much punishment it can take
