    I haven't followed sg very closely, just an episode now and again.

    Is the quality of the show sustained over the years? Is getting the boxed sets worth it?

    the quality in the first 5 seasons gets progressively better in my opinion. Seasons 6 and 7 are a little weaker i think, but they pick up towards the end of 7. 8 has been a mixed bunch: the first couple were really good, then it seemed to loose the plot a little in the middle, but by the end it was really good. if ur going to get the boxsets, id say start at the beginning and just work your way forward as best you can

    I've just got my friend Pernille to start watching them. She was hooked on Atlantis, but didnt get any of the crossover references so I persuaded her to watch the first season of SG1 and she's hooked on that now as well!:D
