I enjoyed it.
It is in the style of the classic DW in that the effects are not cutting edge but were pretty good. The Tardis is excellent. The story used an old enemy, one that used to creep me out so I liked that. Showing the scope of the Doctor's influence was cool.
I felt the actor makes a good doctor but just a little too much for laughs for my taste but I think it should settle down.
The companion is ok, nice to look at but definitely not an intellectual.
One particular phrase made me expect a long story arc based on the enemy but it didn't work out that way.
overall 6.5 out of ten but showing promise for the future.
:)
But good to see hes back!
[B]Personally I really can't see a WHO without the Fro...

Might have to get on dvd when it comes.
Another series I'm hoping to get , is the one where he plays the Second Coming..
slighly different arrangement I think.
Updated graphics at the start.
Have never seen a single episode of Dr. Who except for this one tv-movie
The film was not classic Who but its hard to put a finger on exactly what was wrong. The elements were there: the series stories were designed to be slightly scary, kind of sience-fiction-horror-with -humour but only really scary for children.
I guess the film got Hollywood-ised.
It has to be in LA
The lead has to get the girl
There has to be a car chase
etc
These things are not what I expect or want from Dr Who.
I expect a story to be told over several episodes not wrapped up in one (i was disappointed by the new episode there but hopefully there's an arc that hasn't manifested yet)
I expect a quirky alien doctor who likes humans in general even if mostly they're a bit simple and someone has to take care of them.
I expect to see places out of time and space and weird aliens and of course a quarry somewhere.
ok, maybe not the last one, not everytime anyway.

David Tennant is supposed to be in the running for replacing Eccleston. He is currently staring in a BBC drama called Casanova, about the life and times of the infamous lady magnet. IMo he doesn't strike me as Dr Who material. Richard E Grant has also been mentioned and I think he'd make an excellent choice.
Timelords have 12 +1 really ugly one if you're like the Master
