Remote control app (big pictures)

Been playing with using my mobilephone (Only working with Sony Ericsson mobiles though, since thats what I got.) and my PDA as a remotecontrol (Bluetooth or WLAN), funny stuff to play with, especially when it works. A little expensive remote control but :) (Dell Axim X50v)

My setup for Meedio, a HTPC appliation, the joystick can be used to navigate with

File browser, can browse the filesystem and open files, enqueue in winamp and similar. (Basically the same things as in Explorer)

Controlling the mouse, works as a touchpad on a laptop mostly

Currrently working on this, The playlist is the same as in winamp, and the slider controls the volume in winamp. Changes song by pressing the songtitle

    You reailize that with proper equipment anyone can do that to your system within a couple miles of your home :D

    Well, you need to pair the devices to get the bluetooth working.
    For the tcp/ip....no security atm, but the network is using NAT and I am not using any ports available from the outside/network :)
    The WLAN is not protected though, only MAC filtering....

    I'm not as paranoid as you guys :)

    Do you really believe that someone with the right tools couldn't get into any of those networks if they wanted to? The technology as a whole isn't secure - it doesnt' matter what kinds of software protocals you use to deny others access.

    And paranoid we are! ;)

    Of course anyone with the knowledge can do it, but I dont see it as a big problem.

    (Which serves as stereo, TV, and DVD player...)

    WiFi == Wlan? (atleast in my mind)
    Well, the app can do whatever I want to, since I am making it myself. :P
    Maybe I should hide the website from public until there is actually something to show.....Mostly doing it for myself. Was thinking about just getting a Sourceforge place, but dont want to show the bad code yet, need to perfect it first :)
